Spring Start-Up

During April and May we recommend our Spring Start-Up service to get your sprinkler system up and running for the season.  Winter ground heaving, heavy snowfall and snow removal can take a toll on adjustments and function of your lawn sprinkler heads.  Our technicians will inspect for all the issues winter leaves behind.  Also, from year-to-year your landscape changes. Shrubs and trees grow and sometimes landscape is redesigned and changed.  At the time of the Spring Start-Up we will review the design of your current irrigation system and recommend changes or enhancements that will ensure your sprinkler system meets that needs of all your lawn and plants.

System Winterization

In Ontario, we experience freezing temperatures as early as October.  Consequently, your irrigation system must be properly winterized to safeguard against freeze damage.  Our Winterization service includes:

  • Turn water off to system and drain interior pipes
  • Deactivate controller and valves
  • Clear all pipes of water with compressed air
  • Open all manual drains

Backflow Prevention Devices

Irrigation system backflow prevention devices are used to protect water supplies from contamination or pollution.

Irrigation backflow devices are designed for installation on potable water lines to protect against both back siphonage and back-pressure of contaminated water into the potable water supply.  Backflow assemblies provide protection where potential health hazards may exist.

Backflow Prevention Devices are required to be tested annually and test reports submitted to ensure compliance within the Municipality Bylaw.

The bylaw is applicable only to industrial, commercial, and institutional property owners as well as owners of multi-residential occupancies.
